Supplier Quality Engineer Job

This is a job summary which includes essential job duties of the position. More specific information regarding duties may be provided upon request for particular locations and facilities.

This position will lead, coordinate, and perform activities associated with the supplier quality programs within the Décor division. This would include but not be limited to:

· Lead the implementation of the Newell Rubbermaid Supplier Quality Assurance program at Décor

· Develop quality policies and procedures, as required.

· Perform supplier capability assessments leading to preferred supplier certifications, driving true supplier partnerships.

· Lead the quality effort within the New Product Development team.

· Approve supplier first article submissions as well as sample submits for finish approval.

· Disposition of supplier deviation change requests.

· Reviewing and approving supplier control plans.

· Lead the supplier quality ranking program.

· Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives with identified suppliers.

· Work with assigned suppliers to resolve defective material issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

· Coordinate supplier continuous improvement programs.

· Benchmark world-class suppliers to assist the present supply base and identify future suppliers.

· Lead cross functional team to achieve company objectives as assigned.

· Perform all duties as assigned.

·Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical engineering, preferably within a textile curriculum.

·Must have 5-7 years of supplier quality experience.

·Thorough knowledge of quality methods and systems is required (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing).

·Hands on experience in Lean and Six Sigma required, strong preference for Six Sigma certification, preferably Black Belt or Master Black Belt.

·An experienced background in various types of manufacturing with specific knowledge of textile manufacturing, specifically nonwovens, wovens, knits, and all types of laminations and finishes.

·ASQC certified auditor, CQE, or CQM is preferred.

·ISO/QS auditing experience is preferred.

·Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for dealing with all levels of internal and external suppliers and customers.

·Ability to lead cross functional team

·Strong upward mobility to progress in the organization.
