Area Sales Manager -DYMO Job

Drive sales of Rhino and Dymo branded products through distributors within the Datacom, Electrical, Security and Pro A/V segments in North America. The Area Sales Manager will work with the National Account Managers to develop, execute, and implement the overall sales strategy for the Rhino and Dymo branded products within these segments.

Primary Responsibilities-

Manage manufacturer representative sales firms in assigned territories

o Maintain and motivate rep firm personnel to aggressively and proactively promote the Rhino and Dymo product lines.

oTrain rep firm personnel in the features of the Rhino and Dymo products.

oTrain and enhance rep firm personnel's presentation skills of Rhino and Dymo products.

oMake joint sales calls with rep firms' sales personnel to distributors, product spec managers, end-users, and installers on a regular basis.

Manage Area distribution base in assigned Area

oReach established sales budget goals by driving current distribution and developing new distribution opportunities

oStay within established expense budget.

oDrive and grow sales through current distribution base.

oDevelop new distribution.

oTrain distribution sales force in all aspects of Rhino and Dymo products within each business segment.

oConduct customer counter-days, tradeshows, sales meetings, and training events jointly with the rep firm assigned to the account.

Manage Area contractors/installers

oDevelop relationships with top key contractors/installers

oStrategically seed Area with product in order to promote the line and to encourage purchases as either first time purchases or conversions of competitive product.

oHold training seminars where appropriate to maximize the usage of Rhino and Dymo products.

Manage Area end-users and product spec managers

oVisit major end-users and product spec managers (engineers & architects) in order to promote the specification of Rhino/Dymo products into the mechanical labeling for wires, cables, & equipment.

o Filter potential business when specified to contractors & distributors and follow through to insure that the sale is closed.

Product and Market Knowledge

oUnderstand the products, accounts, marketplace, business plan, objectives and business drivers that are critical to success.

oUnderstand the different selling techniques of commercial voice/data (specification) versus the security & A/V markets (price/feature/quality).

Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain account pipeline reports.

Can be located in Northern or Southern California.

BS degree or equivalent.

· 5 years of sales experience in the Datacom, Security, Electrical, and/or Pro A/V segments OR sales experience in tools, scanning, labeling, printer, healthcare or medical instrumentation marketplace.

· Proven track record of excellent territory sales performance.

·Ability to prioritize ones work and manage numerous projects simultaneously

·Attention to detail

·Excellent presentation skills

·Should be familiar with solution and consultative selling techniques

·Experience working with software developers, hardware integrators, and VARs a plus.

·Experience within data communications or electrical (wiring and cabling) markets a plus

Misc.

·Travel 60-70%

·Candidate will preferably live close to a major airport
