		<title>Market Research Manager Job (Atlanta, GA, US)</title>

Activities include designing studies, developing questionnaires, planning & identifying relevant samples, managing/conducting data collection in the field and associated in-field logistics, analyzing data to provide actionable insights and recommendations and presenting research findings.  This position will support the deeper understanding of marketing fundamentals as well as the innovation activities associated with new product development.  Identified research insights will be key in driving strategic planning and the ability to present findings within context of the broader business situation is key.  <br/><br/>This person is a supplier of consumer and business insights - not "data dumps".  They will work cross-functionally with marketing, sales and R&D while also interfacing with supplier/vendors on research.  Works with the Director of Insights and Research to create best practices and grow organizational capability related to consumer insights.  <br/><br/>·Bachelor's degree in behavioral psychology, anthropology, market research, social sciences, business or related field. Master's degree highly preferred.<br/><br/>·3  years relevant experience as a market researcher either as a supplier (agency side) to CPG or in-house service provider.<br/><br/>·Proven track record leading and implementing all facets of research from objective identification, methodology selection, study fielding & logistics, data analysis and report writing/dissemination.<br/><br/>·Quantitative Experience:<br/><br/>·Strong analytical skills with experience in quantitative analysis, statistics, and scenario analysis.<br/><br/>·Experience with SPSS or other statistical analysis software and in consumer modeling exercises to uncover relevant insights.<br/><br/>·Knowledge of quantitative methodologies, panel vendors, and questionnaire design.<br/><br/>·Qualitative Experience:<br/><br/>·Experience with qualitative research to include ethnography, group moderation, macro and micro trend analysis, product usability & interface analysis, metaphor elicitation, and insight facilitation.<br/><br/>·Proficient in white page thinking and ability to leverage divergent qualitative consumer data points to identify new and unique insight platforms.<br/><br/>·Leadership of consumer segmentation research projects required.<br/><br/>·Strong listening skills and ability to work in consultative role to provide leadership & guidance towards best learning framework.<br/><br/>·Motivated self-starter who can tolerate fast paced environment, ambiguity and demonstrate problem solving leadership.<br/><br/>·Experience in providing research support at all phases of the product development cycle from innovation projects to post launch research.<br/><br/>·Understanding of relevant tools required to support both tactical product research as well as higher order consumer/category research.<br/><br/>·Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards.<br/><br/>·Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work equally well with technical, marketing and sales team.<br/><br/>·Must be able to demonstrate intelligent thinking about brands and products and how people relate to them as well as to present findings in the relevant business context.<br/><br/>·Exposure to innovation, brand positioning, claims, and projects required.<br/><br/>·Exposure to creative problem solving techniques and tools a plus.<br/><br/>·Willingness to travel within US and internationally.]]></description>

More specific information regarding duties may be provided upon request for particular locations and facilities. <br/><br/>General Function : <br/><br/>This position is responsible for leading a team engineers and support staff responsible for new product development and product engineering for the Culinary Lifestyles business.  Primary responsibilities include oversight and development of all core Calphalon products including the project management, detailed product engineering, packaging design and development, and product specifications of 40  projects annually.  The role involves significant cross functional collaboration with leaders in Marketing, Sales, Industrial Design, Sourcing, and Finance.  The role will build detailed forward looking product plans working with the Director of Product Marketing and lead their team in the execution of those to specific financial and quality goals on aggressive development timelines The position reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain and R&D. <br/><br/>Duties and Responsibilities : <br/><br/>·                      Management of Technical Development Staff:  Responsible for managing a team of 6-7 development engineers and project managers to deliver key new product development projects.  Aggressively drive projects to schedule and business plan deliverables driving incremental net sales for the business unit annually.<br/><br/>·                      Management of Engineering Services Staff:  Responsible for leadership to supervisor of engineering services, providing vision and direction for CAD standards and capabilities as well as product specification documentation in SAP.<br/><br/>·                      Management of Packaging Engineering:   Responsible for providing leadership to packaging engineer in the development and evaluation of decorative and structural packaging for all Culinary Lifestyles products.<br/><br/>·                      New Product Development Process Improvement - Responsible for improvements to Newell's Consumer Driven Innovation (CDI), stage gate product development process.  Track performance and drive improvements on key development metrics; speed to market, net sales $ per project, % projects on time/on business plan, etc.<br/><br/>·                      Cross Functional Interaction  -  Work cooperatively with peers in Marketing, Sales, Sourcing, and Industrial Design to align future product plans, development resource requirements, and capabilities to Culinary Lifestyles strategic plan.  <br/><br/>·                      Team Development:   Provide development through mentoring, coaching, and constructive feedback to direct reports and development team members.  Identify critical skills and abilities required and development plans for staff. <br/><br/>· This position requires a bachelor's or masters degree in engineering or science with a minimum of 12 years of product development leadership and project management experience in a stage gate product development environment.<br/><br/>· Successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing a large number of projects through a team of direct reports in a cross functional environment.
